Perfect Match......

Really loving the marriage of traditional and more modern styles. I think it is the perfect match.

I have dining rooms on the brain. Been looking to freshen up my dining chairs.......hmmm maybe a table.... going to have to be patient though..... I'm not very good at that.

Christmas Cheer........

It's getting close to Christmas and I am determined to finish my Christmas decorating this week. I really don't have much else to do, but just have to do it already! I'm sure if my husband is reading this he is saying "What! Your not done!"... Not overdoing it by any means... but just need a little more sparkle here and there. We are hosting Christmas Eve dinner too so I just want it to be extra festive. But I'll tell you what..... decorating with little, curious boys is a tricky thing to do! I mean how can they resist... don't blame them..... but we have had a few broken ornaments so far.... but we do every year so it is expected. I just love the glass ornaments though. I can't NOT use them! Too pretty to keep packed away......

Here are some of my fave Christmas ideas this year.......

Love those big lit up balls in urns.... oh how I wish we had snow!

Just Perfect.....

How's your week treating you so far? Around here the whole house has been hit by the plague.....

These rooms make me smile......

Love the black and white diamond quilt peeking out from the cupboard. Are you obsessive like me and always want your insides to look as good as your outsides? I stress the word WANT... doesn't mean mine do.....

It's Getting Sparkly Around Here.....

The Christmas season is here! Can you believe it! Started to decorate a bit around here. I do something a little different each year. Either adding or taking away some things. Usually I have the traditional red and white. This year I added a little bit of every color. Some gold, some turquoise, some pink, some coral..... a little bit of everything. Plus all of the sentimental ornaments and the handblown glass trucks, boats, and planes I get the boys each year. And I have to say this is my favorite tree by far. It is just so cheerful!

Here is a little sneak peak... not ready for the full reveal just yet.... its a little bit eclectic, little bit rustic, little bit sparkly....

I was inspired by this "wreath" on the door of a home featured in Better Homes and Gardens December 2010 issue.

Recently I pulled out a silver tray of my grandmother's that was passed down to me. Not knowing quite where to put it, I stuck it under a collection of vintage soda bottles. I loved it! Don't you love it when those things happen by accident. When you put absolutely zero thought into it?

A little detail shot.....

So when I saw how she incorporated vintage silver into her holiday decorations I was instantly smitten.

I also "borrowed" (Hi Mom!) another dish. I am really happy with the way it is turning out! Adds that little extra somethin'.....

Now I'm on the hunt for more....
